On the eastern bank of the Tagus River stands the castle of Zorita de Canes, which was built in the 12th century by the Order of Calatrava to take refuge after the wars with the Muslims that weakened the defenses on the Guadiana River. Gothic in style and well adapted to the silhouette of the hill, it is a fortification that does not go unnoticed and is worth visiting as it also offers wonderful views of the Tagus River valley.
