Bodenstein Castle, located above Wintzingerode, has a history dating back around 1,000 years. Well-preserved and restored, it is one of the jewels of the Eichsfeld region. The forest surrounding the castle offers picturesque hiking trails.

Its origins date back to the 7th century, so it's really old.
The castle courtyard is only accessible to guests 😏, but you won't be arrested for looking at the beautiful inner courtyard.
One of the most beautiful castle complexes ever 👌👑

The inner castle courtyard is currently closed to day visitors 😏, thanks to the coronavirus.
The beautiful outdoor area and a tour of the castle are possible and worthwhile.
