The Kirveslampi Nature Trail is an easy 1.7 kilometre circular route within Leivonmäki National Park. Its well-maintained duckboards lead hikers through varied terrain, culminating in a scenic observation tower offering panoramic views of the landscape. Hop off your bike and stretch your legs!

Hitonhauta is the largest gorge in central Finland. You can find impressive cliffs, a waterfall, a small pond and some caves here. According to legend, this is the tomb of an evil spirit named Hitto, who lived here. Apparently, his petrified face can be seen on the rock face in the gorge.

At this beautiful spot, you will enjoy a stunning view over the Bay of Kannus. There is a bench and also a pit toilet. A nearby wooden bridge will take you over the water along the Heretty Nature Trail.

With less than two kilometers roundtrip, the Kirveslampi Nature Trail is a perfect stroll with the whole family. Explore the forested area around the idyllic lakes nestled into the landscape and let the little ones discover all sorts of interesting things. One of the best times to visit is in summer when the weather is mild and the blueberries ripe.
