Perfect stop for brunch, lunch or light dinner. There is also an observatorium. Very nice place for a longer stop to rest and enjoy the view.

The futuristic-looking building with dark wooden cladding and a yellow entrance facade is the De Oostvaarders visitor center. Here you can find out everything about the unique marshland Oostvaarderplassen, which lies between Almere and Lelystad. Excursions and events for young and old complement the exhibition in the building. On the ground floor there is the Paviljoen restaurant, where you can fortify yourself before or after a bike ride. The view over the Oostvaarderplassen is simply fantastic.

Then you can go here for all the information. Before you start a walking or cycling route, you can also enjoy a cup of coffee here. There is also a Panorama Room, from which you can observe the surroundings and animals with binoculars. Please note: some hiking trails in this area have limited hours, so always check in advance.

The Kromslootpark is located between the Hollandse brug, Almere harbour, Gooimeer and the A6. Bicycle paths with asphalt pavement and walking paths through the grass along the water. A beautiful piece of landscaped nature with a considerable surface area.

Kromslootpark - redesigned between 2019 and 2021 - is a nature area between Almere Haven and Almere Poort. It runs parallel to the A6. The park consists of two parts, of which the eastern part, the Beginbos and the Vogelbos, is designated as a dog walking area by the municipality of Almere. The name Beginbos was chosen because this forest was created in 1974, before Almere was even on the drawing board. The Beginbos became the first urban forest when the first houses were built around it in 1976. Today it is a deciduous forest with a large number of deciduous trees. Here you will find maple, elm, beech and poplar as well as wild cherry. The Vroege Vogelbos borders directly on the Beginbos in Almere Haven. It is a park-like forest with both deciduous and coniferous trees. The forest is just off the A6 Almere Haven exit. The western part of Kromslootpark is not accessible to dogs. This part is a very special and varied area with ponds, fields and forests and the associated flora and fauna. It's like the Oostvaardersplassen in miniature, where nature can take its course. Special sheep, horse and cow breeds are also at home here. The area is also attractive for bird lovers. The Kromme Sloot watercourse flows through the park, which is open all year round. The park consists of forest, dikes, swamp, reeds, bushes and shrubs. This pristine landscape attracts beavers, otters, whitethroats, tree hawks and bitterns in particular. There are also many species of waterfowl. There is also an artificially created hill in the middle of the park, which offers a wide view over the area. There are 150 sheep scattered throughout the park tending the lawn. There are paths for pedestrians, wheelchair users, cyclists and mountain bikers. The paths are marked accordingly.
