Usually quiet, isolated and the Chamonix Valley don't really go together, however, here we have a quiet, isolated peak, nestled on the Swiss side of the valley. From the summit, you will have an excellent view of the valley, as well as the Trient glacier. Plus, you'll find high-quality, rugged alpine hiking trails with a remarkable sense of isolation. The summit itself is on a ridge with a few other minor peaks, but Pointe Ronde is the most famous and notable.

An extremely cute and bohemian refuge, hidden in the hamlet of Le Puisy. The refuge is a must on the Tour du Mont Blanc, due to the campsite located just opposite. The shelter offers accommodation, food, coffee and most importantly, cold beer, making it a great place to recover after a long summer run.

La Croix de Fer offers stunning views of vast expanses of Swiss mountains and the valleys that run through them, as well as the Trient Glacier and Lake Emosson. Access to this point in summer requires a modest amount of climbing, as well as some exposure in places following the ridge. The exceptional location of this point, however, makes it a great little excursion, with enough challenges to make it interesting.

The Trient Glacier is nestled in the Trient Valley. Despite its beauty and impressive ice display, it lives in the shadow of neighboring celebrities in the Chamonix Valley, such as the Mer de Glace. The Trient Glacier remains a fantastic spectacle and can be seen year-round. Those taking the Fenêtre d'Arpette route on the Tour du Mont Blanc will also see it on their descent from the pass, which is a great excuse to stop and rest your knees.

Camping, camp and overnight stay in a hut are possible. The food is served in a yurt, and there is also a terrace. Vegans and vegetarians also get their money's worth here. :)

This hike, a variant of the famous Tour du Mont Blanc, offers breathtaking views of the Trient glacier and the Mont Blanc massif. The ascent from the Chalet du Glacier is arduous, with its 1000m drop in one go, but equal and precisely proportioned. It goes from larch forests to crumbling scree to the sharp points of the windows. On the other side, a steeper valley opens up to the Relais d'Arpette, an unmissable stopover gite.
