Both the Stour Valley Path and St Edmund Way long-distance trails make use of this section, which takes you across Sudbury riverside meadows. The cathedral-esque Holy Trinity Church in Long Melford is a sight to behold. Grade I-listed, it was funded by the region's prosperous wool trade and built between 1467 and 1497 in the late Perpendicular Gothic style. Thought by many to be one of the finest religious buildings in the country, a visit is a must when hiking in the area.
