The North Norwegian chieftain Ottar of Hålogaland, also called Ottar of Lenvik, lived in the 9th century. During this time, he lived here in Northern Norway. Many believe that Ottar's chieftainship was located in Hålogaland, south of Malangen, where the area "Lenjuvich" (Lenvika) is located. Others believe that his residence was further south, in the beautiful strait "Gisundet." A strenuous scramble - climb is rewarded at the top with a mega view from the steep edge - but only if you have a head for heights....

Designer rest area with a distinctive toilet, which is clad on the outside with gold-plated aluminum shingles. The beach is huge and the water in the fjord is wonderful. Camping is also allowed here and is well received.
