The Peace Church in Siek, with its churchyard and former cemetery, stands prominently in the center of the village. Siek was first mentioned in writing in 1263. Presumably, the first church was also built around this time, making it one of the oldest church buildings in Stormarn. The first church was initially built in the 13th century without a chancel, using fieldstones, and was later expanded at least three times. This first church ultimately measured 31 meters in length and 16 meters in width. The fieldstone walls were exceptionally thick, reaching up to 1.40 meters. During the Baroque period, a 40-meter-high, shingle-covered church tower was built, integrated into the western gable. This tower served as a trigonometric base point after the surveying of the Danish kingdom. In 1880, the church was struck by lightning and burned down. The church walls were not damaged by the fire and could largely be used for the new building, constructed between 1880 and 1883 in the Neo-Gothic style. The new tower now stood 53 meters tall and continued to serve as a trigonometric base point for land surveying.
