The Westermark is practically the counterpart to the Friedholz forest area - from the point of view of the town of Syke, both forests are almost exactly opposite one another. The path marked here leads beautifully through the southern tip of the Westermark, southeast of the railway line between Syke and Bassum. It is justifiably popular with walkers and runners.
