The Höllenau and the Olendieksau rivers originate in the Schönbek Moor; the latter flows into the Brahmsee lake. This places the moor on the watershed between the Stör river system and the Wehrau river system, the latter of which now flows into the Kiel Canal and formerly flowed into the Eider river 😉...

The bathing spot is known locally as "Einfelder Eck". It's a shame that Komoot changed the name so generically.

Here at the lake there's a large lawn for sunbathing, some exercise equipment, a playground, and a very small swimming area. I was here in winter. It's quite possible that swimming isn't allowed and that it's more for dogs.

I was there at the end of November in a light drizzle. The bench wasn't very inviting as a result. But still: a beautiful landscape, even in gloomy November weather. Highly recommended. Under no circumstances should you leave the paths.

It's something like the town's official bathing area. The bathing area itself is rather small. The playground is large and spacious, as is the sunbathing lawn. There's a very nice view across the lake. A good place to rest and relax.

The violet chanterelle looks like it came from an enchanted forest: its surreal midnight blue color and velvety soft. It's also quite rare. While it's edible, it tastes more like forest floor. Better to look at it than cook it!

This letter is lying on a bench at the Moorweg intersection. The wishes are very valuable—but the question of trust moves me more deeply.
