You can hike through the deep jungle to Cafetal Buena Vista. The trail is cleared, but very steep in places. The high humidity and heat make it even more difficult. It's possible to take a shuttle from Las Terrazas up to Cafetal and then hike down.

At Cafetal Buena Vista you can still see the old structures of the plantation, such as these plantation terraces, which were used to dry the coffee after harvest.

The Buena Vista Cafe offers a beautiful view. There are several lounge chairs available for relaxation and enjoyment.

Cafetal Buenavista in Las Terrazas is a partially restored, historic 19th-century coffee plantation in Cuba. It is located in the Las Terrazas area, now an ecological nature reserve and artists' village near Havana. On the plantation, you can view the remains of the buildings, including the former manor house (now a restaurant—not always open!), the drying beds, and a mill. A visit to the plantation provides insight into the history of coffee production and the living conditions of the slaves who worked there.

This is the country road that leads from the main road toward Cafetal Buena Vista—an old coffee plantation above Las Terraza. It's very hilly and offers limited shade.

The Casa de Botes restaurant is beautifully situated by the lake and serves fish. The pork ribs are also delicious. Just don't order the spaghetti or lasagna.
