At the moment, the road through Ruppertshain is still partially closed. If you want to continue towards Schloßborn and Feldberg, you have to drive around the construction site on the main road. This means that two more short but steep ramps are in your way. Both ramps are quite challenging with double-digit gradients. The construction site in Ruppertshain will probably last until August 2024.!

The red cross marks a pass that was used by historic trade routes and was so important that the Romans built a fort to control it. The castle in Oberreifenberg later served the same function in the Middle Ages.

The Sandplacken (669 m) is the pass between Oberursel and Schmitten im Taunus and thus into the Weil valley, which represents a natural connection towards the Lahn valley and Weilburg. Celtic finds on the Taunushang bear witness to the fact that people were already using this pass in pre-Christian times. In Roman times, the small fort Altes Jagdhaus secured the pass over which the Upper German-Rhaetian Limes runs. There is a hotel (with restaurant) and a café/restaurant on the Sandplacken.

Το Rotes Kreuz είναι ένα πέρασμα ύψους 688 μέτρων στο Hochtaunus (να μην συγχέεται με το "Gasthaus zum Roten Kreuz"). Συνδέει την κοιλάδα Weil με το Vordertaunus και χρησιμοποιείται εδώ και αιώνες (πολύ πριν από τους Ρωμαίους).
