The "Zante Sea Turtle Rescue & Information Center" or simply "Zante Turtle Center" is a non-governmental organization (NGO) on Zakynthos. It is located 100 meters above Gerakas beach. Gerakas is in the heart of the Caretta Caretta nesting grounds. Therefore, the organization works to preserve this endangered turtle species and wants to show how conservation and sustainable tourism can work together to benefit visitors, locals and wildlife alike. Gerakas Beach is a sandy beach at the southeastern end of Zakynthos. You can reach the beach via a wooden path. You can rent sunbeds in the front area. The part of the beach towards the slope is cordoned off because turtles lay their eggs here. Sticks and signs mark the spots. The beach is closed between sunset and 7 a.m.

The Myzithres rocks are one of the tourist highlights on Zakynthos.
