The Tailors' Bastion is the only fortification tower from the old citadel that has survived completely to this day. The bastion was financed by the Cluj Tailors' Guild, which was also responsible for the city's defense at this point. The bastion forms the southeast corner of the medieval fortress, which was built starting in the 15th century (it is first mentioned in 1475). Between 1627 and 1629, the bastion was rebuilt according to the plans of the Italian architect Giacomo Resti after the gunpowder stored in the tower exploded as a result of a lightning strike. This is how it acquired its present form. To the north, a section of the stone wall with battlements and the guard route on the wall still survives.

Impressive castle which does not look old or in ruins, the castle is so well taken care of! The security guard kindly let us in at 8pm. Usually at that time, he does not give anyone permission to enter the castle. At 9pm, the castle lights up little by little and at around 9:15, you can see the castle clearly outside. Be careful because the main road is very crowded so if you do want to go south towards Jucu commune and Cluj-Napoca, please be aware of the cars that are passing by because there is no long sidewalk, cyclepath or anything like that. If you are not in a rush, turn towards Borșa/Borșa-Cătun on Drumul Bistriței and then turn left on a paved road near the end of Răscruci. There you cross Borșa river and you can see the map on komoot next.

Old and abandoned castle. Really worth seeing it if you live in Jucu and you have bikes. Otherwise, not a very touristic attraction. Recommend Bonțida which is around 5 km away as well as Nicula Monastery 31 km away. However, this is a nice location and the ride to this castle is under some trees, close to the Jucu Arena and La Doi Pași, where you can grab drinks.

The building is 24.5 meters long and the entrance is marked by six stone columns with Ionic capitals. The columns support a 9.5 meter long and 2.5 meter wide terrace. The walls are massive, 1 meter thick. The premises of the building were surrounded by a stone wall, a small part of which has been preserved, and on the left side of the entrance wall are the ruins of the built round tower.

The entrance to the castle also had an old suspension bridge that was raised at night or in case of danger. The gate was framed parallel to the entrance by unicorns, which also appear on the Kornis family coat of arms. The protector of the castle was the Mother of God, over whom the unicorns supposedly watched over. At the intersection of the diagonals of the complex there is an octagonal fountain surrounded by round columns and arches. In the northeastern part of the domain there is a pavilion built in 1825, which is structured on two sides with Doric columns. Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish everywhere!
