A historic peak (World War I) that can be reached from two sides via asphalt and gravel roads and forest paths. Probably a "must see" for historians. On Monte Sabatino there is a cross-border open-air museum Italy/Slovenia. The starting point is a former barracks, which today serves as an information point and restaurant. Due to its position, the mountain was one of the strategic factors during the Isonzo battles in World War I. The museum offers a tour of the second Austro-Hungarian defense line, which was defeated by the 2nd Italian Army on August 6, 1916 during the 6th Isonzo Battle. You can also see bunkers, positions, trenches, a complex tunnel system, caves and relics of war material. Stunning view from the top of the platform, with clear weather you can easily see the coastline, the north-eastern alps & the julian alps. Hard climb but absolutely worth it.

A narrow, stony path (marked) leads from the main path to the summit where there is a spectacular view of the Braniza valley, Vipava, Trstelj and Skrbina, all the way to Monfalcone and the sea.

The top of Monte San Gabriele can be reached via a dirt road without technical difficulties, but with a slope that does not let up until the end. The panoramic tower from which to admire the surrounding area is fascinating. The descent can take place via a trail which however requires a minimum of experience and in any case an adequate means.

A mountain located 3km as the crow flies from Gorizia, 646m high, the scene of bloody battles during the Great War. On the top there is a steel panoramic tower from which it is possible to observe Nova Gorica, Gorizia, Sveta Gora, Monte Sabotino, and more in the distance the Matajur, Monte Nero and the Canin group.
