Baselice is located on the hills of the Fortore valley 45 km from Benevento. In the village you can visit various monuments of historical and artistic interest, such as the church of San Leonardo Abate, patron saint of the town.

The cave of S. Michele, at about 500 meters above sea level, was used from the 18th century, and was intended for the cult of the Archangel Michael. Around the cave there is a rest area for hikers. There are various frescoes in a style influenced by the Byzantines.

Faicchio is a small town located at an altitude of 175 m. The name comes from the Latin "fagus", which means beech. Populations were already present during prehistory and during the Roman period. The Lombards founded a church dedicated to San Michele in a cave on Mount Monaco di Gioia. The first written record dates back to 1151 when Faicchio was counted among the possessions of the Sanframondo family, an important family of Norman origin that had all the municipalities of the Titernina valley as a fief.
