The old village was abandoned in 1960-70s because of an earthquake. The new village was built right above the gorge.

Accessible only on foot, it's worth the hike to visit this large and impressive hermitage at the bottom of the Vorotan Gorge. When I last visited, I met a single hermit-in-residence growing herbs and tomatoes in the courtyard.
