Lech Dam 18 near Kaufering is a run-of-river power plant on the Lech River with a capacity of 16.7 MW and a head of 13.3 m. In operation since 1975, it is operated by Uniper Kraftwerke and feeds electricity into the Bayernwerk AG grid.

Nice alternative to the shore path or in combination. Especially in winter - with a view of the Lech. Some of the paths are slippery, and sometimes icy in winter.

From here, you can even see the Alps across the reservoir. The church steeple of Altkaufering is also clearly visible. The fish ladder is also noteworthy. Since the Lech River has carved a deep gorge into the rock below the dam, the geological information panel fits in well here.
