A truly beautiful spot with a wonderful view. The hermitage is a lovely place to linger. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the sausages, which I was looking forward to.

We had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of the castle today. It was very interesting, and the guide was very entertaining and funny. The rooms are beautiful, with so much to admire and see. From the armory, library, study, fountain, chapel, anecdotes, photos, and a short musical interlude, there was even more to see. But I don't want to give everything away 😉. In any case, the visit was well worth it and very entertaining. The castle tour lasted over an hour. Photography is prohibited in the private rooms.

The Angerseehütte with the clubhouse at Angerlosesee is the starting point for many hikes around the Staffelstein bathing lakes. Guided hikes organized by the German Sports Association also take place here regularly. Anglers can obtain permits for the quarry lakes here. On summer weekends, you can buy delicious smoked fish (trout and char) here.

Previously a secluded hermit's farm, the Staffelberg Klause has become a real insider tip for hikers and day trippers, and families with children especially like to come here. And not least because of the large adjacent meadow and the peace and quiet around it. You also have a wonderful view over the Staffelberg. opening hours April to the end of October: Wed to Sat 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sun 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday closed.

Fast self-service, good beer

The detour to the Staffelbergklause is always worthwhile...delicious snacks and good beer round off a visit to the Staffelberg.

The Kemitzenstein near Kümmersreuth is a real highlight for those who like rock formations, you can explore them, climb or use the via ferrata. There are plenty of places to sit and relax. Parking is available behind Kümmersreuth at the Kaider rest area.

Beautiful beer garden. Friendly staff. Whether pizza, currywurst or steak. Delicious.
