I've personally lived in this city for much of my life and it has a very special feeling. This church that is on the top, where there is a beautiful view, it is well worth going up and having a look, there are several places with benches where you can take a break and enjoy :)

A peaceful and beautiful bird-rich lake that offers stunning views on both sides of the bridge. Part of the Selsø estate, it's a wonderful place to stop for a break, especially early in the morning or later in the day. Don't miss it.

If you follow the Isefjord trail, you will come a little further north to a primitive overnight site. With the forest at the back and a view over the Isefjord towards Hornsherred, it must be one of Denmark's most beautiful campsites. The site, which cannot be booked, is located on the fishermen's old landing site. The local fishermen had the right to have their boats lying on the beach. Here they cleaned and dried their nets and stored the bottom net stakes. In the past, eels, herring and flatfish were mainly caught. Today, eels and shrimp are caught in the fjord, but there are no more local commercial fishermen left in Kongsøre Forest

The bark shed was built in the middle of the 19th century, when bark was an important source of income for the forests. The bark was sold to tanneries, and it is estimated that up to a third of the forest's income at that time came from the production of bark - especially from oak trees. Very few barks are preserved. When the leaves were as big as mouse ears, a man was sent up the tree with an ax to cut a groove so that he could literally peel the bark off the tree with his feet. The bark was then left to dry. First on the ground and then inside the bark shed. Later, the dried bark was sold to tanneries, which extracted tannic acid from the bark. By the bark shed there's a parking lot which serves as a great entry to Kongsøre Forest.

A little further north along Isefjordstien you come across Tingstedet, which is in fact a long dolmen from the Neolithic. The name suggests that it was once thought that the stone setting was an old courthouse. Part of the dolmen has crashed down the slope and into the fjord.
