Its strategic position makes it an excellent stopover point during multi-day outings, or even just to stop for a meal. The refuge offers a total of 54 beds, both in dormitories and in rooms with private bathroom, with the possibility of overnight stay only, breakfast, half board or dinner only with a set menu. The adjacent Casa del Custode has another 40 beds divided over three floors. It is also possible to pitch a tent in the direct vicinity of the refuge for a daily fee of 5 euros per person. The property also has a covered storage room where you can store your bikes overnight.
The Segheria refuge is open every day from mid-June to mid-September and from 28 December to 6 January. In the remaining periods of the year it is only open on weekends.

The refuge (1740 m.) Is located in the municipality of Ligonchio (RE), in the upper Val d'Ozola, within the National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and in the territory of the Civic Uses of the Soraggio Valley "ASBUC" .
Protected by Mount Prado and overlooking Mount Cusna, the refuge stands at the point where the dense beech woods begin to thin out to make room for boundless meadows and blueberry moors.
Not far away (about 15 minutes on foot) is the lake of the same name of glacial origin ... Stop to eat something and enjoy the view.

Beautiful and solid structure (thanks to various renovations), inside it consists of a single room with wood stove, table, benches and two bunk beds. Outside, other tables with benches, barbecue and a source of fresh water.
The Ghiaccioni Bivouac was built by recovering an old ruin, dating back to the First World War, to house Austro-Hungarian prisoners of war who worked at the "lock" of Liocca.
