From the parking lot, we first walked through a forest and then along the turquoise-blue Mrtvica River. The path led through an enchanted forest with mosses and lichens hanging from the trees. This is also where the Gate of Wishes is located. The path continued with stunning views into the canyon. At the end was the most exciting section: A 200-meter-long rock tunnel had been blasted into the rock face by Yugoslav soldiers. So...it's definitely worth it 👍

You can't see the Gate of Desires directly from the path. Follow the sign down; it's not far; it's worth it.

There, a friendly elderly lady with a sonorous voice serves homemade apple schnapps and cherry syrup – all homemade! Highly recommended – everyone enjoyed it. Prices are €2/€2.50 – you can give more if you like. She also offers canned beer. No bathroom facilities – her toilet block was destroyed in a storm. So, off she goes into the bushes. Like her, many elderly people live in Montenegro – alone and isolated, with their door open to hikers.

Not worth it. You walk 90% through forest next to river that you don't see. Was disappointing

The path passes a small farm. According to the sign, homemade products can be purchased there.

The old bridge has collapsed and is no longer passable. The water was very deep in places, which is why we couldn't cross the river (September 24). The descent is already quite overgrown, but the view is definitely worth it!😊
