One of the prettiest villages in the Ribble Valley, the village sits between Clitheroe and the Fells towards the Trough of Bowland.

One of the best view points in the centre of Clitheroe, the Castle. There are sets of steps around the castle which are great to include as part of the run to get great views of the Ribble Valley, Pendle Hill and the Trough of Bowland.

The village of Waddington is quiet and a beautiful part of the Ribble Valley. Paths and quiet lanes leading out in each direction and access to the Trough of Bowland and Waddington Fell.

A short section of trail path by the river ribble by Brungerly Park - can get pretty muddy after heavy periods of rain.

This spot can get really muddy in the winter. But always a pleasant sight and short section. It would be a good spot to stop for a brew or lunch on a hot summer's as sheltered from the sun.

When we visited in August 2024 it was possible to access Cromell's bridge from the east side of the new road bridge. But access was quite hazardous along a steep bank side so great care needed.

The old bridge leading into Waddington/Brungerly park. From here you can also venture into Waddow Hall.
