Dravograd is a picturesque small town in northeastern Slovenia, located at the confluence of the Drava, Meža, and Mislinja rivers. Particularly worth seeing are the Romanesque St. Vitus Church in the center and the Lower Drava Castle above the town.

"Barrier-Free" Drau Power Plant Lavamünd Cross-river structures such as the Lavamünd hydroelectric power plant represent impassable obstacles for fish and other organisms. This prevents fish from reaching their spawning habitats, and genetic exchange is limited. According to the 2009 National Water Management Plan of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, restoring river flow is a priority goal for improving the ecological status of rivers. At the Lavamünd power plant, the Drau's flow and thus its fish passage were restored in the area of the weir by constructing this technical fish pass.
