Very nicely prepared castle with a beautiful view of Bad Berneck.

This special natural monument was created thousands of years ago. The Steinach River ate deeper and deeper through an extremely hard volcanic rock, which is called “quartz keratophyre”. The Steinachklamm geotope with its steep slopes and the narrow section of the gorge south of Wildenstein is definitely worth seeing.

The Nordeck castle ruins are picturesquely situated in the beautiful Steinachtal, very close to the "Waldschänke" inn and directly on the Frankenwald-Steigla "Zum Forstmeistersprung". Unfortunately, you no longer have a view from there, as everything has grown over.

Together with the old castle, the castle is the scene of a medieval spectacle every year. The tower of the old castle is now and then open to the public for festivities. Theater is also performed there.

Unfortunately closed at the moment due to renovation work. You can only get as far as the Marienkapelle, then the site fences are already in place. But if it helps that such buildings are preserved, that is readily accepted.

Gives flair to the Kurpark. Free concerts are also sometimes offered here.

Still a construction site - we were there during the week, but no sign of construction workers. Too bad. It might take a while... :(
