The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Barichara is one of the most recognizable symbols of this picturesque town in Santander. Built in 1838 with locally sourced stone, its façade changes color with the daylight, from golden yellow to reddish ochre. Inside, the main altar, covered in gold leaf, and its elegant arched columns are particularly noteworthy. Located across from the main square, it's an ideal starting point for exploring the colonial atmosphere that characterizes Barichara.

This is the first highway that connected the capital city of Bogotá with the neighboring country of Venezuela. The highest point of the highway is at 150 meters above sea level. The monument was built during the government of Enrique Olaya Herrera in honor of the workers who built this highway.

Stunning viewpoint of the 6 horseshoe curves of El Pescadero in the Chicamocha Canyon. Constantly busy with heavy traffic as it is the main road connecting the city of Bogotá and Bucaramanga. If you are going downhill, check your brakes and get ready to feel the temperature rise quickly; if you are going uphill, use a small chainring and a large sprocket to climb in the heat and stifling humidity.

The Chicamocha Canyon is the result of erosion on the river bed over millions of years, making it one of the most incredible landscapes in Colombia. Perfect for lovers of cycling and photography. In 2009, it participated to become one of "The New 7 Natural Wonders", being in the top 77 worldwide. With more than 108,000 hectares, the Chicamocha is one of the largest canyons in the world. It was formed 46 million years ago where there was once an immense lake that allowed the formation of caves and housed marine animals of which remains can still be found. The road that connects the city of Bogotá and that of Bucaramanga is the most popular to cross the Chicamocha, however there are other roads where we can admire this canyon.
