Το Gut Sprinhoe βρίσκεται στα νοτιοδυτικά του δήμου Lockstedt, στην πρώην Lübschen Trade (εμπορική οδός), δίπλα στη λίμνη του μύλου που διαρρέεται από τον ποταμό Mühlenbarbeker Au. Παλαιότερα υπήρχε εκεί ένας υδρόμυλος, ο οποίος αναφέρθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 1148 & ανήκε στο μοναστήρι της Itzehoe. Εκτός από τον μύλο, αναπτύχθηκε και ένα αγρόκτημα. Και τα δύο αρχικά λειτουργούσαν από το μοναστήρι της Itzehoe, αλλά με την πάροδο των αιώνων εκμισθώθηκαν: πρώτα το αγρόκτημα, αργότερα και ο μύλος. The Springhoe estate in the municipality of Lockstedt is now a stud farm. You can walk past the beautiful clock tower and admire the manor house from the park-like grounds.

There used to be a water mill on the mill pond at Springhoe Estate. In 1899 the farm buildings and the mill burned down, and in 1902 the buildings were rebuilt with the exception of the mill. The mill pond was later used for carp farming.

Even though the tower was closed, it was still worth a short visit. An impressive building. And next to the tower there is a covered bench, which is a good place to take a break.

There used to be a water mill there, which was first mentioned in a document in 1148. It soon came into the possession of Itzehoe Abbey, and for the villages of Overndorf and Grönhude, which were also owned by the abbey - today districts of Kellinghusen - there was a mill obligation to Springhoe. This also applied to the monastic subjects in the Aukrug villages, who were not allowed to use the royal Bünzer water mill.
