The Oder Bridge was destroyed on April 1, 1945, by a bombing attempt to delay the advance of Soviet troops during World War II and has not been rebuilt since. The last bridge before its destruction was a concrete tied-arch bridge that collapsed during construction on September 19, 1926.

The Stettiner Tor (Stettin Gate) in Gartz is the only one of the original four city gates that still survives today and represents a significant architectural monument of the city's medieval fortifications. The lower part of the gate was built in the 13th century from fieldstone with a pointed arch and is named after the city of Stettin.

The second passage next to the tower was added in 1935. The gate underwent extensive restoration between 1995 and 1997.

Between 1790 and 1793, the chapel was converted into a two-story residential building, which remained in use until 1989. The residential fittings were removed in 1989/1990, and subsequent renovations were carried out, restoring the windows to their original pointed arches. Today, the chapel is used by the Gartz (Oder) Local History Society for exhibitions and concerts.

The building was constructed between 1900 and 1904 by architect Ch. Steinweg as a district court and prison, and bears the head of former district judge Vendt on the sandstone column in the entrance area. It has served as the town hall since 1953.

The easy jogging or hiking route from and to Salveymühle leads behind the Bismarck oak tree to the right through the fields. Beautiful light, splashes of color from cornflowers and moonflowers in June (but little shade in the heat).

From June onwards there are sand holes and therefore sometimes difficult to navigate for bicycles
