The town boasts Greinburg Castle, the oldest residential castle in Austria, the historic town theater, and the Gothic parish church. A special sundial on the Danube promenade invites you to linger. The picturesque town square offers cafés and restaurants for refreshments. A bicycle ferry allows for onward travel to the other side of the Danube. Grein combines nature, culture, and history and is a worthwhile destination or a lovely detour for cyclists.

Beautiful old town with the Greinburg castle complex. Right at the entrance to the town there is a cozy café called Schörgi, where you can also sit outside. Usually easy to find as there are always lots of bikers there. The ice cream is definitely one of the best in the area and definitely recommended.
