The hike to the Zittelhaus is a true highlight in the Hohe Tauern. Before setting out, it's essential to familiarize yourself with the route and honestly assess whether you're up to the challenge, given your abilities; the climb is challenging. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with a unique atmosphere: spectacular sunsets and sunrises, cozy and clean rooms, delicious food and drinks, and a warm atmosphere at the hut make your stay unforgettable.

Easily accessible from the summit of the Stubnerkogel. Basic fitness, surefootedness, and a head for heights are required. There is an easier route to the summit signposted, but this should not be underestimated due to the truly steep terrain, especially in the last third below the summit.

The Tischkogel, at 2,409 metres high, is a summit with great views. You should be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. The mountain station of the Stubnerkogel cable car is nearby.

I walked up from Bad Gastein but it was worth it, you should have sturdy shoes, no fear of heights, and good fitness

Note that the closed wagon for the bikes is at one end of the train and the passenger wagon is at the other end of the train. So you have to walk several 100m along the train to get to the passenger compartment. However, the luggage may remain on the wheels. In return, service from the train when you get off: the Bahn-Ma have already unloaded the bikes when you get back to the wagon.
