Ten years later it was already an excursion restaurant with overnight accommodation. To mark the 100th birthday of the Steinerberghaus, a sundial by the Bonn sculptor Anton Schmitz was inaugurated. The special thing about this clock: it is tilted parallel to the earth's axis and directed north in the shape of a globe. It therefore represents the exact image of our planet and is illuminated by the sun at the same angle as it. A map of the Earth was also carved into the surface of this massive basalt ball.
