the Jungfernstieg is the promenade along the Binnenalster. Located on the southern bank of the Hamburg Alster. The historic promenade is the focal point in the center of the Hanseatic city.

The Inner Alster Lake is completed by the Alsterfleet (Alster Canal) and a 200-meter-long tributary, the Kleine Alster (Little Alster), which runs directly past the City Hall. A stele next to the canal commemorates the war dead of the First World War. For over 400 years, the Alster swans have made their home along the canal; Hamburg without these white swans is almost unimaginable. ... The Alster Fountain, which shoots an average of 60 meters of water into the air, was put into operation at noon in April 1987. In cold winters, the Outer Alster Lake sometimes freezes over, and thousands of Hamburg residents stroll across the ice during the so-called Alster Ice Fun. The Binnenalster is 0.2 square kilometers in size. It is also called the parlor of Hamburg. You can shop at Jungfernstieg and Ballindamm and enjoy the view of the Hamburg skyline from Lombardsbrücke.

I just wanted to get from HH HafenCity to Reinbek, a trail that goes through horrible industrial areas in Hamburg and Reinbek via Goggle Maps, and was surprised at how beautiful the Komoot trail was. Mostly green, water and nature reserve, few roads and only one really ugly spot.

Absolutely perfect for the summer evening - from ice cream to umbrella drinks to the opportunity to sit and watch, everything you need is there.

The hiking trail is frequented by many pedestrians and free-roaming dogs - at least on weekends and public holidays. Cycling is possible, but you have to be very careful. Conflicts with dog owners not excluded. Still a very nice way.
