Die Kirche ist dem Heiligen Michael geweiht.
Im 15. Jahrhundert wurde am heutigen Molenweg eine St.-Michaels-Kirche mit Kirchturm errichtet.
Im Jahr 1672 stürzte das Kirchengebäude ein und wurde unter Beibehaltung des Turms aus dem 15. Jahrhundert wieder aufgebaut.
