Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde die Schutzhütte niedergebrannt.
Nach einer Umstrukturierung, Vergrößerung und Ausstattung mit einem großen Parkplatz wurde es 1949 wiedereröffnet.
Heute verfügt die Schutzhütte über ein Restaurant mit rund 250 Sitzplätzen und Panoramablick auf die venezianische Ebene, eine Bar und einen Raum für Lunchpakete. Seit 2002 von der Familie Coletto geführt, ist es das ganze Jahr über geöffnet und von November bis April dienstags geschlossen.
