Die Mühle wurde 1872 als Getreidemühle erbaut, nachdem eine Vorgängerin 1870 abgebrannt war. Später wurde es auch als Schälmühle genutzt. Es ist die größte Mühle in Walcheren. 1940 verlor die Mühle ihr Segelkreuz. Erst 1981 und 1982 wurde die Mühle restauriert und wieder komplettiert.
Die Mühle ist mit drei Mahlsteinpaaren und einem Schälstein ausgestattet. Bei ausreichend Wind ist die Mühle samstags in Betrieb. Anschließend kann die Mühle besichtigt werden.
