    Die Schwanenbastei ist eine gotische Bastei in Danzig. Sie wurde auf den Fundamenten der abgebrochenen Fischerbastei errichtet. Die Bastei wurde 1454 beschädigt und danach wiederaufgebaut und um ein Stockwerk erhöht.

    Am Rand des Fischmarkts stand ursprünglich die Burg des Dominikaner Ordens. Nachdem sich der Preußische Bund 1454 und den Schutz des polnischen Königs gestellt hatte, wurde die Ordensburg von Danzigern erobert und geschleift.
    Zum Schutz des Platzes wurde der backsteinerne Schwanenturm erbaut, der dort zusammen mit Resten der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung heute noch steht.
