    Das Museum ist mehr als nur die bemalte Höhle. es ist ein Archäologiepark mit echten Ausgrabungsstätten, bei dem man sich vorstellen kann, wie die älteste Stadt Gran Canarias zur Zeit der Ureinwohner ausgesehen hat.

    Dieses sehr engagiert gestaltete Museum ist ein Highlight. Nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Besuchern wird die Besichtigung der Höhle zu festgelegten Zeiten ermöglicht. Unweit in Agaete befindet sich der Archäologiepark Maipes, der in diesem Zusammenhang auch besucht werden sollte. Etwa 700 Grabhügel sind Zeugnisse des Ahnen- und Begräbniskultes der frühen kanarischen Bewohner vor ca. 1300 Jahren.
