    Die Kapelle wurde 1946 auf Betreiben von Pol De Colage als Zeichen der Dankbarkeit und zum weiteren Schutz des Viertels vor Überschwemmungen erbaut. Der Architekt Leon Van Hove aus Hamme entwarf den Plan und Gustaaf Van Haute aus Moerzeke führte die Arbeiten aus. Die Arbeiten begannen am 15. Mai 1946 und die Kapelle wurde am 23. Juni 1946 eingeweiht.

    Baujahr: Die Kapelle wurde 1946 erbaut. Der Grundstein wurde am 15. Mai gelegt und die Kapelle wurde am 23. Juni 1946 feierlich eingeweiht.

    Anlass: Anwohner der Bootdijk errichteten das Bethaus aus Dankbarkeit. Das Viertel blieb während des Zweiten Weltkriegs von schweren Katastrophen verschont und niemand aus der Straße fiel. Außerdem diente die Kapelle als Bitte, die Nachbarschaft vor hartnäckigen Überschwemmungen zu schützen.

    Merkmale der Kapelle.
    Architektur: Es ist eine weiß gestrichene, rechteckige Backstein-Wegkapelle, entworfen vom Hamse Architekten Leon Van Hove.


    Türmchen: Auf dem Schieferdach steht ein auffälliger quadratischer Glockenturm mit einem schmiedeeisernen Kreuz.
