Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts wurde mit dem Bau einer Kirche im Stil der flämischen und Kempengotik begonnen. Der Turm wurde um 1480 erbaut. Im Jahr 1882 wurde die Kirche restauriert. 1944 wurde das Gebäude von den Deutschen gesprengt und dabei das berühmte Chorgestühl zerstört. Die Restaurierung wurde 1951 abgeschlossen.
