    Die hübsche Kirche wurde aus rotem Trachyt erbaut. Benannt ist sie nach San Lussorio, einem römischen Soldaten, der zum Christentum bekehrt wurde. Während der Christenverfolgungen unter Diokletian erlitt er hier sein Martyrium.
    Im 4. Jahrhundert wurde ihm zu Ehren ein unterirdisches Grab errichtet, das heute die Krypta der Kirche bildet.
    Die im romanischen Stil errichtete Kirche wurde im 12. Jahrhundert von Vittorini-Mönchen gebaut, die es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hatten, Stätten von Märtyrern aufzuwerten.
    Die Kirche war eigentlich geschlossen, jedoch kam nach einem Anruf eine nette Dame vorbei und öffnete für uns das kleine Gelände.
