Embark on the Valmalenco High Route - Stage 3, a difficult jogging route that takes you through a grand high-altitude environment. You will cover 5.9 miles (9.6 km) and ascend a significant 2937 feet (895 metres), which typically takes around 2 hours and 42 minutes. Expect continuous panoramic views of majestic peaks like Monte Disgrazia, Piz Bernina, and Piz Scalino. From the Del Grande Camerini Hut, you can gaze upon the impressive north face of Monte Disgrazia and its glacier, surrounded by crystal-clear alpine lakes and vibrant wildflowers.
This stage is considered a difficult high-altitude excursion, best suited for experienced hikers due to its demanding terrain and significant elevation changes. The route is wild and partly on uneven ground, so good fitness and sure-footedness are essential. You will encounter a short equipped rocky section with two metal cables near the Del Grande Camerini refuge, which requires caution but not a via ferrata kit. Be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding journey.
The Valmalenco High Route is renowned for its extraordinarily scenic high-altitude trek. This particular stage offers unique views of the north face of Monte Disgrazia and its glacier, a highlight for many.
