    Erste Flughafen New Yorks. Aufgebaut am Ender der 1920 Jahre konnte sich der Flughafen gegenüber dem in New Jersey liegendem, aber besser an den Manhattan angebundenen Newark nicht durchsetzen. Dafür wurde der Platz für einige Rekorde genutzt, auch die FW 200 Condor der Lufthansa landete nach dem Non-Stop-Flug aus Berlin hier. Später wurde das Gelände für die Ausbildung der Militär-Piloten genutzt. Zur Zeit kan man noch den Tower und einige alte Hangars sehen, in denen die Küstenwache noch einen Stützpunkt betreibt. Der Großteil des Geländes ist aber mittlerweile ein Naturschutz-Park.

    Schöne alte Hauptgebäude eines wirklich historischen Flughafens in New York City. Leider verfallen die Hangars immer mehr. Als erster Flughafen New York City's hat er leider ausgedient.
