    Diese wunderschöne Bronzestatue wurde am 17. Oktober 1899 zum Gedenken an den Gründer der neuen Stadt im 17. Jahrhundert eingeweiht. Die Statue sowie die Nebenfiguren stammen von Alphonse Colle, einem Schüler von Aristide Croisy.

    Nachdem es ein Jahrhundert lang im Zentrum des Place Ducale gelegen hatte, wurde es 1999 an den Anfang der Rue Pierre-Bérégovoy verlegt, um den Wünschen des Gründerfürsten nachzukommen und die Homogenität des Place Ducale wiederherzustellen. Es markiert auch den Eingang zur historischen Stadt Charleville und heißt Besucher willkommen, die vom Bahnhof kommen.
