    Das Gelände heißt Bollenveen, weil es früher ein Hochmoor mit konvexer Form war. An der Nordseite befindet sich eine Stelle mit einer ringförmigen Wasserrinne, wo früher der Tjasker stand. Ein neuer Tjasker wurde 2001 gebaut.
    Es wird angenommen, dass der Bollenveen der Überrest einer Pengo-Ruine ist.
