Es zeigt die Figur eines jungen Mannes mit einem Säbel in der rechten Hand.
Im September 1939 von den Nazis zerstört, stand er 1958 erneut auf dem Podest als Figur mit einem Banner in der gleichen Geste, allerdings ohne Säbel.
Die Statue wurde von dem Bildhauer Augustyn Dyrda, einem Künstler aus Tychy, angefertigt, der Augenzeuge der Zerstörung der ursprünglichen Skulptur durch die Deutschen war.
2007 rekonstruierte er die Vorkriegsfigur eines Aufständischen erneut mit einem Säbel in der Hand.
