    Sein Ursprung ist der einer alten Burgfestung, die 1399 von D. Pedro Ponce de León den Einsiedlern von San Agustín gestiftet wurde, die dort bis 1835 blieben. Seit 1882 wird sie von der Franziskanergemeinschaft gepflegt.
    Hervorzuheben sind der Mudéjar-Kloster aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, die Bibliothek, das Museum und das Bildnis der Jungfrau, der Schutzpatronin der Stadt, deren Namenstag am 8.
