While some climbing aids are anchored in the rock, extreme caution is advised. There have been reported incidents, so always be aware of your footing and surroundings. It's not considered a beginner-friendly hike for the final descent to the main swimming areas.

Are there different access points or routes to reach the various pools at Cascata de Fecha de Barjas (Tahiti)?

Yes, there are different access points. One path, often described as coming from the bridge side near Ermida, leads to the top of the waterfall where there are upper bathing pools. Another path, on the other side of the bridge, continues further down to the main swimming areas where you can truly swim. Some hikers have opted to switch sides earlier to avoid a wooden ladder that was noted to be in poor condition over a small gorge.

Consider the physical capabilities of all members of your party before attempting the full descent.
