    Diese Hochgebirgshütte, auch nur als Forni-Hütte bekannt, liegt im Forni-Tal in der Gemeinde Valfurva. Es liegt im Herzen des Nationalparks Stilfserjoch in der Lombardei auf 2.178 Metern Höhe. Seit Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts war es, wie wir in einigen deutschsprachigen Drucken lesen, möglich, in einem „Gastwirtshaus am Forni-Gletscher“ zu übernachten, aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach ein Vorläuferbauwerk der heutigen Schutzhütte.
