    Die Vesder (oder Vesdre oder Weser) entspringt unter dem Namen Weser im Hohen Venn nahe der deutschen Grenze, bei Roetgen, bevor sie mehrere Kilometer lang überquert. Auf belgischem Territorium mündet der Fluss bald in den Eupener Stausee, ein Trinkwasserbecken. Die Ausnahmestrecke beginnt am Fuße der 63 m hohen Wesertalsperre.
