    An der Stelle eines ruinierten Steinhauses in der Gegend von Vrsar begann der weltberühmte Künstler Dušan Džamonja 1965 mit dem Bau seines istrischen Heims, das gemeinsam mit dem in Zagreb (wo er vor allem Modelle und Originalskulpture machte) und dem Atelier in Brüssel, zum Zeichnen benutzt, Mittelpunkt seines Schaffens wird. Sein Haus in Vrsar hat Džamonja als Ferienresidenz mit Wohnhaus, Arbeitsraum, Atelier, Privatgalerie, Werkstatt, Wohnung für Helfer und Skulpturenpark gebaut und realisiert.
